Albert Raymond Hayes III

Albert Raymond Hayes III, of Columbiana, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was 74 years old.

Born on November 13, 1951, in Salem, Ohio, Albert (Buddy) was the son of the late Albert "Red" Hayes and Anna Hayes. He spent most of his life in Columbiana County, where he built deep roots, lifelong friendships, and a reputation for his generous spirit and unmistakable presence.

Albert attended Columbiana High School and went on to dedicate 35 years of his life as a long-haul and regional truck driver, logging well over a million miles throughout his career. His strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family were evident in everything he did.

He had a true passion for life and found joy in simple, meaningful moments. Albert loved taking golf trips with his many close friends, fishing with family, and playing pool in leagues and tournaments over the years. He also generously volunteered his time coaching his son and many local youth in Leetonia Little League baseball, leaving a lasting impact on countless young lives. He was always the loudest voice in the stands cheering for his son and many of the same young men he coached. In later years, he cherished summers spent at the campground, surrounded by family, laughter, and lasting memories.

Those closest to Albert knew he had your back no matter what and was loyal to a fault. He will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality and his even bigger heart. He was a man who loved deeply, laughed often, and made everyone around him feel like family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert "Red" Hayes; his mother, Anna Hayes; and his sisters, Barbara Trump and Mary Lou Cumberledge. 

He is survived by his beloved children, Bert (Jenna) Hayes and Lola (Armen) Abkarjan; his former wife Linda Rohrer, sisters, Patricia Coffman and Karen Hayes; his brothers, Roger Hayes, Wayne Hayes, and Michael Hayes; and his cherished grandchildren, Elliott McMurray, Elias McMurray, Basil McMurray, Eva Pacella, Lorelei Hayes, and Lennon Hayes. He also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
