Thomas Handy Obituary

Thomas W. Handy, 80 of Salem passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Alliance Community Hospital. Thomas was born in Sebring on February 8, 1938 the son of the late Everett and Edith (Blake) Handy; he was a US Air Force veteran and retired from GM Lordstown. Thomas enjoyed spending a lot of time with his grandkids, he loved to work on projects in the garage with his brother Ron, go hunting, fishing, gardening and working with his horses, people will remember him for sharing his vegetables and gracious hospitality.

He is survived by his children; Gregory (Darlene) Metz of Beloit, Chuck (LaDonna) Handy of Damascus, Thomas (Donna) Handy of Salem, MaryAnn (Dwayne "Sonny") Bandy of North Benton, Lori Beachman of Florida, Tammy Betz of Sebring, 13 Grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers; Evert, Richard, Ronald, and James Handy and a sister Shirley Grund as well as several Nieces and Nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown funeral home at 1:00 PM with Pastor Mike Kimball officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 17th from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit with Military Honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard. Memorial contributions can be made in Thomas' honor to The Concern, 125 West Ohio Ave. Sebring, OH 44672. Friends may sign the guest register and send condolences online at www.grfuneralhome.com.
