Raymond C. Crewson

Raymond C. Crewson 94, of Sebring passed away at Alliance Community Hospital on March 3, 2017. Raymond was born in Sebring, Ohio on January 3, 1923 the son of the late Howard F. and Anna (Blake) Crewson. He was a member of the Army Air Corps where he was a POW during WWII in Germany, later he re-enlisted and retired from the US Air Force as a Master Sergeant in 1970 and then worked as a claims examiner for the State of Ohio. Ray enjoyed his military life, bird watching, always was known to always be willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, past president of the Salem Bird Club, a member of the Caterpillar Club (Military Parachute Training), a member of the Sebring Historical Society, he was selected as a Distinguished Alumni of Sebring High School and received the Airman of the Year award from the 89th RSM.

 Survivors include his wife of 60 plus years Dolores E. (Navock) Crewson, two sons Donald J. Crewson of Beloit, David M. (Nancy) Crewson of Sebring, a daughter Linda A. Benton of Sebring, five grandchildren; Nathan (Erica) Reichenbach of Mineral Ridge, Justin (Christina) Benton of Sebring, Rachel Crewson of Sebring, David Crewson of Sebring, Josh Crewson of Beloit and three great grandchildren; Kaleb Reichenbach, Lilly Raber,  Ulysses Benton.  He is also survived by a sister Shirley Abney of Sebring and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers Lee Crewson and Jack Crewson, a sister Marie Griffith.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown funeral home in Sebring with Rev. Quint Bryan officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday March 9th from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the funeral home with the family present from 6-8PM as well as the half hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Sebring with Military Honors provided by the Salem Honor Guard.
