Norman Morris Obituary

Norman C. Morris, 98 of Alliance, passed away at his home on Monday, January 7, 2019 with his family by his side. Norman was born in Homeworth, Ohio on December 29, 1920 the son of the late Walter and Elsie (Grimes) Morris. He attended Alliance High School and was a US Army WWII Veteran. Mr. Morris retired as a Foreman at Transue and Williams in 1983 after 43 years of service. He was a 78 year member of the North Georgetown Emmanuel Lutheran Church, a Charter and founding member of the George D. Worth Post #574 in North Georgetown, a member of the Alliance American Legion Post #166, the Salem Saxon Club, the Alliance Senior Center, the Alliance Senior Club, and the Transue Retirees Club. He also enjoyed gardening (especially his well manicured yard), golfing, bowling and watching the Cleveland Sports teams as well as cheering on Mt. Union Football.

Survivors include three daughters; Cindy Young of Alliance, Debbie Bishop of Massillon, Rhonda (Mark Roose) Morris of Alliance, 2 grandchildren; Kristi Young-Golden of East Canton, Dustin Roose of Alliance,a great grandson John Christopher Golden of East Canton, a brother Kenneth Morris of Mesa, AZ and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Harriet (Berger) Morris on October 22, 2009, two sisters Margaret Heltman, Beverly Martin, a brother Robert Morris and 2 infant siblings. The family would like to thank Norman's caregivers especially; Cathy, Rita, Debbie, Lisa, Patty, Debbie, Kathy, Jan and the Lexington Township Fire Department.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in North Georgetown with Pastor Angie Storer officiating at 12:00 PM. A time of visitation will be held the hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Burial will at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit.
