Joshua Costa

Joshua Costa, age 41, passed away suddenly after an unexpected illness on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at his home in Reston, Virginia. Joshua was born on September 16, 1978 in Salem, Ohio to Kathryn and Alex Costa. Joshua graduated from West Branch High School in Beloit, Ohio in 1997. Joshua graduated from Ohio State University with a degree of Associate in Applied Science in 2002 and George Mason University with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering in 2019.

Joshua worked as a Civil Engineer for Shirley Contracting Company, LLC. Joshua also had been a high school wrestling coach for Broad Run High School in Ashburn, Virginia.Previously, Joshua was involved in coaching for the wrestlers at the Ashburn Elite Wrestling Club in Ashburn, Virginia. Joshua enjoyed coaching and mentoring young wrestlers and continued to follow their progress after their high school graduation. Joshua was a passionate fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns. Joshua enjoyed playing golf and working out at a fitness club.

Joshua is survived by his maternal grandmother Margaret (Wright) Wilson, his parents Alex and Kathryn (Wilson) Costa; his brother Joseph (Jessica) Costa; his niece Hannah Costa and nephew Jack Costa. Joshua was proceeded in death by his grandparents Alex and Alice Costa and Russell Wilson.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with pastor Mark Reich officiating. Friends and family may call two hours before the service from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Hope Cemetery in Salem, Ohio.
