George M. Stearns

George M. Stearns 98 of Minerva passed away at his home surrounded by family members on Sunday, July 22, 2018. George was born in New Martinsville, WV the son of the late George W. Stearns and Bessie V. (Grimes) Stearns. He was a 1939 graduate of Jewett High School, a WWII Veteran of the Army Air Corps and retired from Universal Co-Op in Alliance. Mr. Stearns enjoyed time outdoors especially in his garden and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children; Cathy (Patrick) O'Hara of Indianapolis, IN, Debra (James) Harp of Sebring, Lois Ann (Mark) Gerback of Minerva, Ronald (Deborah) Stearns, 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann Stearns in 2005 as well as his siblings; Chester Stearns, Iva Smith and Hazel Knight.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit with Sue DeHoff officiating.
