Gene Kitzmiller Obituary

Gene Kitzmiller, age 84, of Alliance died Monday, October 22, 2018 at Crandall Medical Center. He was born in Canton, Ohio on August 9, 1934 to Earl and Vada Kitzmiller.

He married Joyce Denny on June 9, 1957. He is survived by his wife, two sons Sam (Michelle) Kitzmiller and Roger (Christine) Kitzmiller; daughter JoAnn (John) Ross; grandchildren Melinda (Anthony) McCowan, Heather (Nick) Sanor, Kevin Kitzmiller, Zachary (Sara) Kitzmiller, Joe Kitzmiller, Stephanie Kitzmiller, Makayla (Rob) Toussant, Josh (Morgan) Ross, Jacob Ross, Josiah Ross and Jonathan Ross; step-grandchildren Tyler (Heather) Kelleher and Garrett Hershberger; great-grandchildren Blake and Kade McCowan, Sophia Agee and Jett Sanor; brother Marion (Betty) Kitzmiller; sister Neva Greenamyer; sister-in-law Shirley Kitzmiller and several nieces and nephews.

Gene was a farmer, rural mail carrier and a member of Pine Lake Christian Church where he served as an elder, deacon and financial secretary. He was a charter member of Knox Ruritan Club and member of Mile Branch Grange. He enjoyed traveling, collecting John Deere Tractors, pedal tractors and toys.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dale Kitzmiller and brother-in-law Roger Greenamyer.

A funeral service will be held at Pine Lake Christian Church on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Roger Kitzmiller and John Ross officiating. Friends will be received on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the church and the hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made in Gene's honor to Pine Lake Christian Church Mission Fund.
