Betty Louise (Nestor) Scarbino

Betty L. Scarbino ,95 of Sebring, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton. A lifelong resident , Betty was born in Sebring on August 6, 1923 the daughter of the late George R. and Margaret (Waugaman) Nestor .She was a graduate of Sebring McKinley High School and retired as the Office Manager of Dr. H. Gene Shafer after 30 years to the practice in 1987; she was a member of the Sebring Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder; taught Sunday School and was a member of the Ruth Circle at the church. After her retirement she volunteered at Rockhill and Northside Elementary Schools in Alliance. Many people could also see her helping her niece at the College Inn Restaurant in Alliance. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, reading, going out to eat with her family and friends as well as watching sports especially the Cleveland Indians and Ohio State.

She is survived by her daughter Sally (Ronald) Ford of Alliance, a grandson Daron of Alliance, brother Gordon (Betty) Nestor of Marblehead, Ohio, sister-in-law Carol Longaberger of Doylestown, special niece Cindy (Dave) Cade, special great niece Samantha (Scott) Brunner, a special great nephew Mark (Yvette) Cade as well as a niece, two nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years,Nick, on October 30, 2000 as well as a sister Doris Munitz.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown funeral home in Sebring with Pastor Martin Radcliff officiating. Visitation will be held the hour prior to the service on Friday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Burial will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Sebring.
