Eunice Ann (Sams) Close

Eunice A. Close, 88 of Beloit passed away on Friday, July 26, 2019 at Crandal Medical Center in Sebring. Eunice was born in Beloit on August 23, 1930 the daughter of the late Joseph and Loreta A. (Stanley) Sams. She was a 1948 graduate of Beloit High School and married her husband of 47 years on August 22, 1948 and raised her 9 children as her full time job. She also worked in the Housekeeping Department at McCrea Manor in Alliance. Eunice was a member of the Beloit Evangelical Friends Church where she was very involved in many church activities too numerous to list; she also enjoyed spending time with her fellow classmates attending many "NOYB" Club meetings. Eunice also loved to watch the Cleveland Indians and reading many books.

Survivors include her children; Joretta (Ike) Hill, Joyce Close, Deanna Hendershot, Marcia (Scott) Ives, Nancy (Rick) Ellyson, Donna (Tony) Minich, Larry (Colleen) Close, Tim (Cindy) Close and David (Doreen) Close. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert "Dean" Close on November 8, 1995, son-in law Floyd Hendershot, 2 grandsons; Dan Close, Kyle Ives, 2 great granddaughters Marissah and Illeana Lalu, 4 brothers and 1 sister. The family would like to thank the staff of Crandall Medical Center for their kind care and treatment of Eunice.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 12:00 PM at the Beloit Evangelical Friends Church with Pastors MArk Reich, Rick Sams and Matt Close officiating. Prior to the service a time of visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Burial will take place at Grandview Cemetery in Sebring. Memorial contributions can be made in Eunice's honor to the Beloit Friends Church Building Fund 18042 5th Street, Beloit, OH 44609.
