Joan Caryl McDowell

Joan Caryl McDowell, 92 of Sebring passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Crandall Medical Center.  Joan was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on August 5, 1923, the daughter of the late Roy B. and Margaret (Axford) Caryl. She was a librarian and archivist at the Mayfield Regional Library and Laurel School.  She had a lifelong love of books and bible study.

 Survivors include her two sons David McDowell of Cleveland Heights, Scott McDowell of Cleveland Heights and her granddaughter Sara McDowell of New York City.   She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday May 20, 2016 at Bennett Chapel, Copeland Oaks with Rev. Martin Radcliff officiating.
