Ivan J. Palovich

Ivan J. Palovich, 79 of Columbiana, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Boardman.  Ivan was born in Hubbard, Ohio on November  20, 1936 the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Kovach) Palovich, he retired from Grange Insurance as a Claims Adjuster. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Salem; Ivan enjoyed working on cars, playing cards, fishing, and gardening but most important was spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years Mary Elizabeth “Betty” (Snellbaugh) Palovich whom he married on June 13, 1959 of Columbiana, four daughters; Laura (Chris) Palovich-Binder of Columbus, Rebecca (Michael) Chabo of Brandywine, Maryland, Pamela (James) Connolly of Salem and Karen (David) Bates of Columbiana.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren; Micah Chabo, Eli Chabo, Michael West, Justin West, Jessica Walled, Danielle Schneider, Carl Bates, Olyvia Bates, Jarod Bates, six great grandchildren and a sister Joan Crawford.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, October 17, 2016 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Salem at 11AM with Fr. Robert Edwards officiating. Friends may call at Brown Funeral Home in Salem on Sunday, October 16th from 2PM-4PM. Burial will take place in Union Cemetery in Hubbard.
