Cora Virginia (McMillen) Satterfield

Cora Virginia Satterfield, 86 of Alliance passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. Cora was born in Morgantown, WV on April 3, 1930 the daughter of the late Glenn and Della (Nicholson) McMillen. She enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and Browns, she also enjoyed being outdoors gardening and mowing her lawn. But most important to her was spending time with her family.

Survivors include her four children; Patricia (Cary Heestand) Hoopes of Alliance, Clarence (Vickie) Satterfield of Salem, Shirley (Bob) Bauer of Auburndale, FL, and Raymond (Christine Wainwright) Satterfield of Minnetonka, MN.  She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 brothers Millard (Ann) McMillen of Alliance and Wilbur McMillen of Morgantown, WV.  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband David Satterfield who passed away in 1992, a daughter Peggy Louise, a granddaughter Abby Jane, and eight siblings; Goldie Maxon, Elmo, Paul, Lawrence, Howard, Clarence, Jim and Roy McMillen.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016 at Nicholson’s Chapel in Morgantown, West Virginia with Bob Bauer officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, Sept. 9th from 6-8PM at Gednetz-Ruzek-Brown funeral home in Sebring and on Saturday in Morgantown the hour prior to the service from 11AM-12PM.  Memorial contributions may be made in Cora’s honor to Alliance VNA/Hospice 2461 West State Street, Suite E, Alliance, OH 44601 or The American Cancer Society 525 N.
