Buddy Junior Hoopes, 80 of Beloit passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Canterbury Villa in Alliance. Buddy was born in Damascus, Ohio the son of the late Arlan and Evelyn (Schoeni) Hoopes; a graduate of Goshen High School and owned and operated a dairy farm for 25 years and spent 16 years working at Deerfield Farms. He was a member of the Damascus Friends Church, a charter member of the Knox Ruritan Club and a former member of Mile Branch Grange.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years Lela Mae (Mercer) Hoopes whom he married on May 26, 1957 of Beloit, two sons; Kenneth (Lora) Hoopes of Beloit, Daniel Hoopes of Alliance; 6 grandchildren; Nathan, Nicholas, Jonathan, Derek, Stephanie and Jessica; 2 great granddaughters; 1 great grandson and 2 great great grandsons. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Don, Bob and Harold a sister Marilyn and his daughter in law Susan.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Damascus Friends Church with Pastor John Ryser officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and at the church the hour prior to the service from to 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
