Zelda B. “Tootie” Rice, 90, of Sebring, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Community Care Center in Alliance. Zelda was born in Zelienople, Pennsylvania, on September 17, 1922 the daughter of the late Clyde E. and Edna Mae (Brahm) Icenhour. Mrs. Rice was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1941 and worked as an assembler at Alliance Manufacturing retiring in 1974. She was a member of Sebring Trinity Lutheran Church, a past member of Smith Grange, a volunteer at the Sebring Concern, a volunteer at Alliance Community Hospital (Pink Lady) for 8 years, enjoyed gardening, music and spending time with family. Survivors include her daughter; Linda (Bill) Melzer of Sebring, four sons; Dave (Bonnie) Rice of Alliance, James (Sheryl) Rice of Hanoverton, Michael (Penny) Rice of North Georgetown, Denny (Karen) Rice of Homeworth, 16 Grandchildren; Amee Rice, Troy Rice, Laura (Jason) Hamby, Joanna (Jason) Erb, Angela (Kurt) Killingsworth, Joshua Rice, Rebecca Rice, Mike Murphy, Charleen (Gregg) Coffee, Steve (Michelle) Murphy, Tom (Megan) Murphy, Heather Bell, Krisha Poto, Jacob Rice, Lindsey Rice, and Sydney Rice, 17 great grandchildren, and two nieces Beverley and Dimp. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Earl J. Rice in 1981, a brother Burton Icenhour, two sisters Catherine Icenhour, Minerva Sedoris and a great grandson Gabriel Kirsch. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Gednetz-Ruzek funeral home with Pastor James Case officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Sunday December 30, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Zelda’s honor to Community Care Center 200 East State Street, Alliance, OH 44601. Friends may send condolences and sign the guest register online at www.grfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
