Charles L. Pinkerton

Charles L. Pinkerton, 86, of Sebring passed away on Friday, June 8, 2012 at Alliance Community Hospital. Charles was born in Sebring on December 20, 1925 the son of the late Howard and Golda Bailey Pinkerton. He graduated from Sebring High School and was a member of the Scout & Raiders (Navy SEALS) in the US Navy serving in WWII. Mr. Pinkerton owned and operated a plumbing and heating business, and retired from American Steel Foundries where he was a foreman. Charles was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sebring, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Arie 2199 in Minerva, the Sebring VFW, American Legion, and the Sebring Alumni Association. He loved fishing, family history and enjoyed attending his class reunions. Survivors include; a daughter Shareen “Sherri” (Daniel) Garber of White Lake, MI, a son Larry D. (Susie) Pinkerton of Stow, a daughter in law Marjorie (John) Bianco of Hubbard, nine grandchildren; Sarah, Shane, Stephanie, Samuel, Danielle, David, Erin, Ian and MacKenzie, and ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by special friends, Wayne Bailey and Family, Jim Teeters, and the Sebring Fire Dept. and Paramedics. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Kathleen L. Pinkerton whom he married August 30, 1947, who died on January 14, 2010, a son Jeffrey on September 19, 1996, and three sisters, Gertrude, Marjorie and Helen. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday June 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Sebring Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Frank Gross Jr. officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday June 12, 2012 from 6-8 PM. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Sebring. Arrangements are by Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home.
